Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Protea angolensis is drought-tolerant once established. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.

In drier climates, more frequent watering may be necessary, especially during prolonged dry spells.

Prune lightly after flowering to remove spent blooms and shape the plant. Avoid heavy pruning, as Protea angolensis does not readily resprout from old wood.

Remove any dead or damaged branches at any time of year to maintain plant health and appearance.

Propagation is best achieved through cuttings taken from semi-hardwood in late summer or early autumn. Use a rooting hormone and provide bottom heat and high humidity to encourage root development.

Seed propagation is also possible but can be slow and less reliable.

Repot young plants only when their roots have filled the pot, typically every 1-2 years. Use a well-draining, sandy potting mix. Avoid disturbing the roots excessively.
