Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter to prevent root rot.

Ensure good drainage to avoid soggy conditions, especially during wetter periods.

Prune after fruiting to remove old or unproductive canes. Cut back new growth by about one-third in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous new shoots.

Remove any dead, diseased, or crossing branches to maintain plant health and shape.

Propagate from hardwood cuttings taken in late autumn or early winter. Alternatively, root semi-hardwood cuttings in summer.

Layering is also effective; bend a low-growing stem to the ground, nick it, and cover with soil. Roots should form within a year.

Repot young plants annually in spring. Mature plants may need repotting every 2-3 years. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.

Ensure adequate drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
