Water regularly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Gamochaeta purpurea prefers consistently moist soil but can tolerate short periods of drought once established.

Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot, especially in poorly draining conditions.

Prune back after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage bushier growth. Deadheading spent flower stalks will prevent self-seeding and direct energy back into the plant.

Light trimming can be done anytime to remove dead or damaged foliage.

Propagate by seeds or stem cuttings. Sow seeds in spring, either directly outdoors or indoors a few weeks prior. Stem cuttings can be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in moist, well-draining potting mix.

Division of established clumps is also effective in spring.

Repot young plants annually or every two years in spring to ensure adequate space for root development. Mature plants generally do not require frequent repotting and prefer to be slightly root-bound.
