Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the growing season. Reduce watering significantly in winter, allowing the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings.

Overwatering can lead to root rot, especially in cooler conditions.

Remove spent flower stalks to encourage further blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Cut back any yellowing or dead foliage as needed. Heavy pruning is generally not required unless the plant becomes overgrown.

Propagate by division of clumps in spring or by seed sown in autumn or early spring. Divisions should be planted immediately into well-draining soil. Seeds may require a period of cold stratification.

Repot every 2-3 years in spring, or when the plant becomes pot-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat moss and perlite. Ensure the new pot offers adequate drainage.
