Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings, especially during cooler months.

Reduce watering frequency in winter.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to remove any dead or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done anytime, but heavier pruning is best performed in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

This encourages bushier growth and a more compact form.

Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer or early autumn. Insert cuttings into a well-draining potting mix and keep them consistently moist and warm. Rooting can take several weeks to a few months.

Alternatively, sow seeds in spring.

Repot young plants annually, and mature plants every 2-3 years, or when they become root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Spring is the ideal time for repotting, just as new growth starts to emerge.

Trim any circling roots before placing the plant in its new pot.
