Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in winter to prevent waterlogged roots.

Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot, especially in container-grown plants. Overwatering is a common issue.

Prune after flowering to maintain shape and size, and to encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done throughout the year to manage its form.

Heavy pruning is best avoided unless necessary.

Propagation is best done from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Insert cuttings into a well-draining potting mix and keep them moist and warm, ideally with bottom heat.

Germination from seed is also possible but can be slow and less reliable.

Repot young plants annually or every two years in spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, every 3-4 years. Use a well-draining, slightly acidic potting mix.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current root ball.
