Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry.

Reduce watering in cooler months or when the plant is dormant, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

Prune lightly to remove dead or spent flowers and to shape the plant. Pinch back young plants to encourage bushier growth.

Hard pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges to manage size and vigor.

Easily propagated from seeds sown directly outdoors after the last frost or started indoors a few weeks prior. Cuttings can also be taken from healthy stems in spring or summer and rooted in moist soil or water.

Young plants may need repotting annually in spring to accommodate their rapid growth. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound.
