Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during dry periods and when the plant is establishing. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows down.

Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings.

Prune after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done in early spring to shape the plant before new growth starts.

Harder pruning may be needed to rejuvenate older plants.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or hardwood cuttings taken in autumn. Insert cuttings into a well-draining compost and keep them moist in a warm environment, ideally with bottom heat.

Rooted cuttings can be transplanted when large enough.

Repot young plants annually or every two years in spring to provide fresh soil and more space for root growth. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, only when root-bound.

Use a good quality, well-draining potting mix.
