In water features, ensure the roots are submerged or consistently in very wet substrate.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Cut back dead or damaged stems to the ground. This helps maintain plant health and appearance.

Remove any invasive tendencies by cutting back runners or overspreading clumps as needed to control its spread.

Easily propagated by division of rhizomes in early spring. Simply dig up a section of the root system with at least one bud and replant it in moist soil.

Stem cuttings can also be taken in summer and rooted in water or moist soil.

Established clumps rarely need repotting, but if they become pot-bound or are moved from a water feature, repot in spring. Use a large container with heavy, moist soil.
