Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering significantly in fall and winter. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot.

Drought tolerant once established.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Cut back stems to about 15-30 cm above the ground to encourage bushier growth and abundant flowering. Remove any dead or damaged stems at any time of year.

Propagate by seed sown in early spring, either directly outdoors or started indoors a few weeks prior. Stem cuttings can also be taken in early summer and rooted in moist, well-draining medium.

Scarification of seeds may improve germination.

This plant is generally not suited for regular repotting as it prefers to be established in its site. If grown in a container, repot only when severely root-bound, ideally in early spring.

Use a well-draining potting mix and a slightly larger container.
