Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Sagina decumbens prefers humid conditions and can dry out quickly. Water thoroughly when the top centimeter of soil feels dry to the touch.

Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows, but avoid letting the soil become completely dry.

Prune to maintain a neat, compact form and to encourage denser growth. Trim back any leggy or overgrown stems after flowering. You can also lightly shear the plant to maintain its carpet-like appearance.
