Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the growing season. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings.

Reduce watering in cooler months to prevent waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove dead, damaged, or weak stems regularly. Pinch back the tips of young plants to promote branching.

Heavy pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Easily propagated from seeds sown directly outdoors after the last frost or started indoors a few weeks prior. Cuttings can also be taken from healthy stems in late spring or early summer and rooted in moist potting mix.
