Scarlet rosemallow thrives in consistently moist soil. Water deeply when the top 2-3 cm of soil begins to dry. Avoid waterlogging, especially during winter dormancy. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

During hot, dry periods, more frequent watering may be necessary.

Prune back dead or damaged stems in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Cut back the entire plant to about 15-30 cm from the ground to encourage vigorous new growth and maintain a tidy appearance.

Deadheading spent flowers can promote further blooming.

Scarlet rosemallow can be propagated from seed sown in spring, or from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Seeds may require stratification.

Cuttings should be rooted in a moist, well-draining medium in a warm, humid environment. Division of established clumps in spring is also effective.

Repotting is rarely necessary for established landscape plants. For container-grown specimens, repot every 2-3 years in spring as new growth begins. Use a larger pot with fresh, well-draining potting mix.

Ensure the new pot has adequate drainage holes.
