Water regularly during the growing season, ensuring the soil is moist but not waterlogged. Reduce watering in winter, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Drought tolerant once established, but benefits from occasional deep watering during prolonged dry spells.

Prune to shape the plant, remove dead or diseased branches, and encourage bushier growth. Light pruning can be done after flowering.

For rejuvenation or to control size, heavier pruning can be undertaken in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or from seed sown in autumn. Cuttings should be treated with rooting hormone and kept in a warm, humid environment until they establish roots.

Seed germination can be erratic.

Young plants may need repotting every 1-2 years in spring. Mature plants are less fussy and can remain in the same pot for several years. Use a well-draining potting mix.
