Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during active growth. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in cooler months to prevent root rot.

Ensure good drainage to avoid standing water.

Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches anytime.

For vigorous plants, prune back harder in late winter or early spring to stimulate new growth. Pinching young shoots can also improve form.

Propagate from seeds sown indoors in early spring, about 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Scarify the seeds or soak them in warm water overnight to improve germination.

Cuttings can also be taken from softwood or semi-hardwood stems in late spring or early summer.

Repot young plants annually in spring to provide fresh soil and more space for root development. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix.
