Water thoroughly when the soil is dry to the touch, typically every 1-3 weeks in the growing season. Sedums prefer to dry out between waterings.

Reduce watering significantly in winter to prevent root rot, offering only a light watering if the soil becomes bone dry.

Prune in early spring to remove winter-killed foliage and shape the plant. Pinch back young stems in early summer to encourage bushier growth.

Deadhead spent flowers in fall, or leave them for winter interest and to provide seeds for birds.
