Water deeply and regularly during the growing season, especially in dry periods. Allow the top few inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.

Prune to shape the tree, remove dead or damaged branches, and improve air circulation. Light pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Propagated by seeds, which require stratification. Cuttings can also be taken, but are generally more difficult to root. Best to sow seeds in spring.

As a large tree, repotting is not applicable for mature specimens. Young plants in containers should be repotted every 2-3 years into a larger pot.
