Reduce watering significantly in fall and winter, allowing the soil to dry out more between waterings to prevent root rot. Ensure good drainage.

Prune to manage size and shape, or to remove dead or damaged stems. Use sharp, clean tools to make cuts just above a node. Pruning can encourage branching and a bushier growth habit.
