Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Allow excess water to drain completely. Reduce watering during cooler months to prevent root rot. Overwatering is a common issue; ensure good drainage.

Prune to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged branches. Light pruning can be done anytime, but heavier pruning should be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

This encourages bushier growth.

Propagate from seeds sown in spring, or from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Seeds may require stratification. Cuttings should be rooted in a well-draining medium and kept moist.

Repot young plants annually, and mature plants every 2-3 years, or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Repotting is best done in early spring before the growing season begins to minimize stress.
