Pruning is mainly for shaping and removing dead or damaged branches. Light pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. For bushier growth, pinch back the tips of young stems.

Sesbania cannabina is easily propagated from seeds. Sow seeds directly in the garden after the last frost or start them indoors a few weeks prior.
