Silver Sage prefers well-draining soil and dislikes consistently wet conditions. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry.

Reduce watering significantly in winter to prevent root rot, especially in cooler climates. Overwatering is a common cause of failure with this species.

Pruning is generally minimal for Silver Sage. Deadhead spent flower stalks to prevent reseeding if unwanted, and remove any dead or damaged foliage at any time.

Light trimming can be done after flowering to maintain shape, but avoid heavy pruning as it may not recover well.

Silver Sage is best propagated from seed sown in spring, either indoors or directly outdoors after the last frost. Seeds require light for germination and should be surface-sown.

It can also be propagated by cuttings taken in late spring or early summer, but success rates can be variable.

Repot Silver Sage only when necessary, typically when the plant becomes root-bound, usually every 2-3 years. Choose a pot with excellent drainage.

Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a combination of potting soil and perlite or coarse sand. Repot in spring before new growth begins.
