Marsilea minuta thrives in consistently moist to submerged conditions. Keep the soil saturated at all times, and it can tolerate being fully submerged in shallow water (up to 5 cm).

Avoid letting the soil dry out, as this will stress the plant.

Pruning is generally not necessary for Marsilea minuta. Remove any yellowed or dead fronds as they appear to maintain a tidy appearance and prevent rot.

Trimming can also be done to control its spread in a pond or water garden setting.

Marsilea minuta is easily propagated by division of its rhizomes. Simply separate a piece of the rhizome with at least one frond and replant it in suitable substrate.

It can also be propagated from spores, though this is less common for home growers.

Repotting is typically only required if the plant outgrows its container or if the substrate needs refreshing. This is best done in spring. Use a well-draining aquatic soil mix and ensure the rhizomes are just covered.
