Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

Pruning is generally minimal for Stanhopea cirrhata. Remove only dead or damaged leaves and flower scapes. The pseudobulbs and leaves are part of the plant's photosynthetic apparatus and should be retained.

Over-pruning can weaken the plant.

Propagation is primarily through division of mature pseudobulbs during repotting. Ensure each division has at least three healthy pseudobulbs and some roots.

Allow the cut surfaces to callus over for a few days before repotting into fresh orchid mix.
