Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during fruiting. Water deeply at the base of the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly in cooler weather or when the plant is dormant.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing canes. Thin out overcrowded stems to improve air circulation and light penetration.

Strawberry raspberries produce fruit on second-year canes, so selectively prune to maintain a balance of old and new wood.

Propagate by rooting tip cuttings in summer, or by dividing established clumps in early spring. Suckers that arise from the base can also be separated and replanted.

Layering is another effective method where a low-lying cane is bent to the ground and covered with soil to encourage rooting.

Repot container-grown plants every 2-3 years, or when they become root-bound. Choose a container that is at least 10% larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Repot in early spring before active growth commences. Trim any circling or damaged roots before replanting.
