Overwatering is a common cause of root rot, especially in container plants. Reduce watering significantly during winter months.

Pruning is usually minimal and done for aesthetic purposes or to remove dead or damaged stems. Lightly trim in spring to maintain shape or encourage bushier growth.

Avoid heavy pruning, as it may not tolerate significant manipulation.

Propagation can be achieved through stem cuttings taken in spring or early summer. Root cuttings in a well-draining medium, such as a sand and perlite mix. Provide bottom heat and high humidity to encourage rooting.

Seed propagation is also possible.
