Tall Fescue prefers consistent moisture, especially during establishment and hot, dry periods. Water deeply when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering frequency in cooler months when growth slows.

For lawns, mowing is the primary form of pruning. Maintain a mowing height of 7-10 cm for optimal health and stress tolerance. Remove no more than one-third of the grass blade height at any single mowing.

For ornamental clumps, trim back dead foliage in late winter.

Tall Fescue is typically propagated by seed for lawn establishment. It can also be divided in early spring or autumn.

Dig up established clumps, separate them into smaller sections with roots and shoots, and replant immediately. Ensure new plantings are well-watered.

Repotting is not applicable to Tall Fescue as it is a turfgrass and ornamental grass grown in the ground or in large landscape areas, not in containers. If growing in containers for specific purposes, ensure adequate space for root development and repot into a larger container when roots fill the current one.
