Pruning is primarily done to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and to shape the tree. It can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Remove suckers from the base to maintain a single-trunk form if desired. Avoid heavy pruning.

Propagation can be achieved through seeds sown in autumn or spring, or through cuttings taken in summer. Seeds may require stratification. Cuttings are typically rooted in a well-draining medium under humid conditions.

Grafting is also an option for specific cultivars.

Repot young Hercules' Club trees every 2-3 years in spring to refresh the soil and provide more space. Mature trees rarely need repotting and can be top-dressed with fresh compost.
