Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in fall and winter to prevent root rot.

Ensure good drainage to avoid waterlogged conditions, which this plant dislikes.

Prune back in late winter or early spring to shape the plant and encourage bushier growth. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches.

Pinching back young shoots can promote a more compact form and more abundant flowering. Deadheading spent flowers can also prolong blooming.
