Water regularly during the growing season, especially when plants are young or in containers. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding.

In late autumn or early spring, cut back the plant by about one-third to one-half its height to promote bushy growth and remove any dead or damaged stems. This also helps maintain a tidy appearance.

Propagate Malva thuringiaca from seed sown in spring, either directly outdoors after the last frost or indoors a few weeks prior. Cuttings can also be taken in late spring or early summer from non-flowering shoots and rooted in moist, well-draining soil or perlite.

Young plants in containers may require repotting every one to two years in spring to provide fresh soil and more space for root growth. Mature plants are often best left undisturbed in the ground, but if container-grown, repot when roots become crowded, using a slightly larger pot with good drainage.
