Trillium X prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, especially during dry spells. Avoid waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering as the foliage begins to yellow and die back in late summer.

Pruning is minimal for Trillium X. Remove spent flower stalks once flowering has finished to prevent seed formation if undesired.

Allow the foliage to naturally die back in late summer, as it nourishes the rhizome for the following year. Remove any dead or damaged leaves at that time.

Propagation is primarily through division of the rhizomes in late summer or early fall after the foliage has died back. Ensure each division has at least one bud.

Seeds can be collected and sown, but germination is very slow and often requires stratification for several months.

Trillium X are slow-growing and do not require frequent repotting. If container-grown, repot every 2-3 years in early spring before new growth begins, or when the plant becomes root-bound.

Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter.
