Keep the central cup filled with about 2-3 cm of water. Empty any standing water from the pot saucer to prevent root rot.

Water the soil sparingly only when the potting mix feels dry to the touch, ensuring the plant doesn't sit in soggy conditions, especially during cooler months.

Remove spent flower spikes and any dead or yellowing leaves at the base of the plant using clean, sharp scissors or a knife. This not only improves the plant's appearance but also redirects energy to new growth.

Aechmea fasciata is primarily propagated through basal offshoots, also known as pups, that grow from the base of the mother plant. Once these pups reach about one-third the size of the parent plant, they can be carefully separated and potted into their own containers.
