Pruning is generally minimal for water parsnip. Remove any dead, damaged, or yellowing foliage as needed to maintain plant health and appearance.

Cut back stems in late autumn or early spring before new growth emerges to tidy up the plant and encourage vigorous new shoots.

Water parsnip can be easily propagated by division of established clumps in early spring before new growth begins.
