Regular checks are crucial, especially during warmer months, to prevent the growing medium from drying out. Avoid water that is too turbulent.

Pruning is generally minimal. Remove any yellowing or dead leaves and flower stalks to maintain the plant's appearance and health.

Trim back any overly vigorous growth to keep the plant within its desired space in the pond or water feature.

Water Poppy is easily propagated by division or stem cuttings. Divide established clumps in spring. For cuttings, snip off healthy stems, remove lower leaves, and float them in water until roots form, then plant in pots.

Repot Water Poppy annually or when it becomes root-bound, preferably in spring. Use a sturdy pot with drainage holes, filled with heavy loam or a specialized aquatic planting medium.
