Petasites albus thrives in consistently moist soil. Water deeply when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry, especially during warmer months and dry spells. Avoid waterlogged conditions, as this can lead to root rot.

In containers, frequent watering may be necessary.

Pruning is primarily for management and tidiness. Cut back dead or damaged foliage in late autumn or early spring. If the plant spreads too aggressively, you can cut back the rhizomes to control its expansion.

White Butterbur is easily propagated by division of its rhizomes. In early spring or autumn, carefully dig up the plant and separate sections of the rhizome, ensuring each piece has at least one bud.
