Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry, typically every 2-4 weeks in the growing season and much less in winter. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot.

Overwatering is the most common cause of issues with Echeveria species.

Prune to remove dead or damaged leaves and to maintain desired shape. You can also prune to propagate new plants.

Use clean, sharp tools to make cuts and allow the cut surfaces to callus over before replanting to prevent infection.

Easily propagated from offsets (pups) that grow at the base of the plant. Carefully separate the pups with a clean knife when they are a few inches tall and have their own roots.

Alternatively, leaf cuttings can be taken and allowed to callous before placing on soil.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound, preferably in spring. Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current root ball and has drainage holes.
