Water regularly, especially during dry periods, to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering in cooler months when the plant's growth slows down to prevent root rot.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing stems to maintain plant shape and encourage vigorous flowering.

Light pruning can also be done after flowering to tidy up the plant.

Propagate from seeds sown indoors in early spring or directly outdoors after the last frost. Seeds can be scarified or soaked overnight to improve germination.

Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood in summer and rooted in moist soil.

Repot young plants annually in spring to provide fresh soil and more space for root growth. Mature plants may only need repotting every 2-3 years.

Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and use a well-draining potting mix.
