Water regularly, allowing the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Terminalia amazonia prefers consistently moist soil but dislikes waterlogged conditions.

Reduce watering slightly during cooler months, but do not allow the soil to become completely dry.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches.

Light pruning can be done at any time, but heavy pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Use clean, sharp tools.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late spring or early summer. Dip the cut end in rooting hormone and plant in a well-draining potting mix.

Keep the cuttings moist and in a warm, humid environment until they root.

Repot young plants every 1-2 years, or when they become root-bound. Mature plants may only need repotting every 3-4 years. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot that is slightly larger than the current one.

Repot in spring.
