Winter Savory prefers to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering significantly during winter months when the plant is less active.

Prune regularly to maintain a compact shape and encourage bushier growth. After flowering, cut back by about one-third to prevent the plant from becoming woody. Light pruning can be done anytime to harvest leaves.

Remove any dead or damaged stems promptly.

Winter Savory can be propagated by seeds, cuttings, or division. Sow seeds indoors in early spring. Take semi-hardwood cuttings in summer and root them in moist potting mix.

Division of established clumps is best done in spring or autumn.

Repot young plants annually or every two years in spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, when root-bound. Choose a pot with good drainage.

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of compost and gritty material like perlite or sand.
