Pruning is usually minimal, primarily for shaping or removing dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Avoid heavy pruning, as it can stress the plant.

Propagation is typically done from seed, which may require scarification or stratification to improve germination rates. Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood in summer, but are often slower to root and establish.

Repot young trees every 2-3 years in spring to refresh the soil and provide more space for root growth. Mature trees in the ground generally do not require repotting. Ensure the new pot has excellent drainage.
