Water regularly, especially during dry periods, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

Reduce watering in cooler months or when the plant is dormant.

Pinch back young plants to encourage bushier growth. Remove spent flowers regularly to promote continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding. Light pruning can be done anytime to maintain shape or remove dead foliage.

Heavy pruning is best done in early spring.

Easily propagated from seeds sown directly into the garden after the last frost, or started indoors 4-6 weeks prior. Seeds germinate quickly in warm, moist soil.
