Water trailing shrubverbena regularly, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot. Reduce watering in cooler months when growth slows.

Overwatering is a common issue, so err on the side of caution, especially in well-draining soil.

Prune trailing shrubverbena to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. After flowering, or in late winter/early spring before new growth begins, cut back stems by about one-third to one-half.
