Water consistently to keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during cooler months or if the plant is dormant.

Overwatering can lead to root rot.

Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or leggy stems at any time of year. Light pruning can be done in spring to stimulate new growth.

Pinching back the tips of young plants promotes a more compact form.

Propagate from seeds sown in spring, or from stem cuttings taken in late spring or early summer. Seeds germinate best in well-draining soil at around 20-24°C. Cuttings root readily in moist, well-draining media.

Both methods are generally successful.

Repot young plants annually in spring. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years, or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one.

Ensure good drainage holes in the pot.
