Alternatively, offsets (pups) that may form at the base of mature plants can be carefully removed and planted separately.

Xanthorrhoea platyphylla is slow-growing and rarely needs repotting. If it outgrows its container, choose a pot that is only slightly larger. Ensure excellent drainage and use a well-draining, gritty potting mix.

Repotting is best done in spring when active growth begins.
