Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering slightly during winter dormancy but do not let the soil dry out completely.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Prune back dead or dying foliage at any time. After flowering, cut back spent flower stalks.

In late winter or early spring, before new growth emerges, you can cut back any old, woody stems to encourage vigorous new growth and maintain a tidy appearance.

Divide overgrown rhizomes in spring. Each division should have at least one healthy bud. Plant them in well-draining soil, covering the rhizomes lightly.

Water gently and keep in a warm, humid environment until new growth appears.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes pot-bound. Use a large pot with excellent drainage. A well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix is ideal. Repot in spring before the active growing season begins.
