Water regularly during the growing season, especially when establishing. Aim for consistently moist soil, but avoid waterlogging. Reduce watering in fall and winter as the plant becomes dormant.

Deep watering is preferable to frequent shallow watering to encourage strong root development.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Aim to create an open, vase-shaped structure.

Lightly deadhead spent blooms throughout the flowering season to encourage further blooming.
