Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Ziziphora hispanica prefers well-drained soil and is susceptible to root rot if overwatered.

Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings, especially during cooler months.

Prune lightly after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead or weak stems.

You can also cut back by about a third in early spring to stimulate new growth and prevent the plant from becoming leggy.

Propagate from seed sown in spring, or take semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer. Seeds germinate best with light exposure and moderate temperatures.

Cuttings should be treated with rooting hormone and kept in a humid environment until established.

Repot annually in spring when the plant is young, moving to a slightly larger pot with well-draining soil. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound.

Ensure the new pot has drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
