Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Bacopa lanigera prefers consistently moist soil. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.
Reduce watering slightly during cooler months, but never let the soil dry out completely.
Prune Bacopa lanigera to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. After flowering, trim back leggy stems to about one-third of their length. This stimulates new growth and more blooms.
Regular deadheading can also prolong the flowering period.
Propagate Bacopa lanigera from stem cuttings taken in spring or early summer. Select healthy, non-flowering shoots, cut them to about 7-10 cm, and remove lower leaves.
Insert cuttings into moist potting mix and keep them in a warm, humid environment until rooted.
Repot Bacopa lanigera every 1-2 years, or when it becomes root-bound. Spring is the ideal time. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and use a well-draining potting mix.
Gently loosen any circling roots before placing the plant in its new container.
