Cnidoscolus albidus prefers infrequent watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, especially during its dormant period in cooler months. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure good drainage.

Reduce watering significantly in winter.

Pruning is primarily for shaping and managing size. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Wear gloves as the sap can be irritating.

Cnidoscolus albidus can be propagated from seeds or stem cuttings. Seeds should be sown in well-draining soil after the last frost.

For stem cuttings, take 3-5 cm sections in spring or summer and allow them to callous before planting in a suitable medium.

Repot young plants annually in spring. Mature plants require repotting every 2-3 years, or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend.

Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current one.
