Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In spring and summer, water thoroughly when the soil is dry.

Reduce watering significantly in autumn and winter, providing only enough to prevent extreme shriveling. Overwatering is the most common cause of rot.

Pruning is generally not necessary for Lobivia bridgesii unless removing damaged or diseased parts. If offsets need to be separated, use a clean knife or razor.

If a larger plant needs to be reduced in size, make clean cuts and allow the wound to callus over before repotting.

Propagate primarily by offsets (pups) that form at the base of the parent plant. Gently remove the offsets with a clean knife, ensuring they have some roots.

Allow the cut surface to dry and callus over for a few days before planting in well-draining cactus mix.

Repot every 2-3 years, or when the plant becomes pot-bound or outgrows its container. Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.

Repot in spring, just as new growth begins.
