In very hot, dry periods, occasional extra watering might be beneficial.

Prune to shape the tree and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Early pruning can establish a strong central leader.

Avoid heavy pruning, especially on mature trees, as they generally require minimal intervention once established. Do this in late winter or early spring.

Rain Trees can be propagated from seeds, which require scarification or soaking to improve germination. Cuttings can also be taken from semi-hardwood in summer.

Grafting is another method used for reliable propagation and cultivar maintenance.

Young Rain Trees may need repotting every 1-2 years into a slightly larger container to accommodate root growth. Choose a well-draining potting mix.

Mature trees are best left undisturbed in their final planting location as they are difficult to move.
